This detailed work of art created by artist Allison Cosmos, was rendered with hundred of tiny lines and washes of translucent grays. The parrot and its delicate vines pop beautifully off a rich warm gold leaf background.

“Descant” as a noun is defined as an independent melody sung above a basic melody. As a verb it means to talk at length or tediously! Did you know that some parrots can mimic close to 2000 vocabulary words! These parrots are a little less noisy thank goodness!
