Inspired by traditional Chinoiserie bird painting, “In Blue Time” is an exquisite blue and white forever work of art. Its simple color palette is classic and timeless. This chinoiserie bird painting includes 3 songbirds, beautiful magnolia blossoms, red trillium, and dogwood branches. “In Blue Time” has companion pieces as well. They look great together stacked, across the room from each other or side by side. Look for “Blue and Far Between” and “Dream Come Blue”.

Magnolias are so old they were here before bees evolved. Their fragrance is divine and petals are a silky warm white. Along with magnolias the artist added dogwood branches. Growing up in North Carolina these were her most favorite flowers. All the songbirds are painted in a Modern Chinoiserie style.

Chinoiserie painting is a considered a European interpretation of East Asian decorative arts. However, Allison puts her lighter touch on her pieces. Comparatively, she paints in a looser style with a more modern palette. Additionally, she is inspired by the scientific illustrations of James Audubon. Her signature tiny brushstrokes used for feathers and flower centers will have you looking closely again and again.
