“My Mykonos Morning” is charming pelican art print. The composition is filled with native plants and flowers of Greece. The pelican is inspired by “Petros” a real life mascot of Mykonos. He was found wounded by a local fisherman in 1958 and nursed back to health. It soon adopted the name “Petros” as a joke among locals which means “rock” or “stone”, but metaphorically “old and grumpy”. Sadly he was hit and killed by a car in 1985. This painting honors his spirit and beauty. Pistachio and bougainvillea branches surround him and a blue damselfly hides in the hot pink petals.
